A slim unit in each room holds the temperature you set. We place it where it suits the room, not where the pipework is easiest. You'll stop seeing it within a week. You won't stop feeling it.
In January it gathers warmth from the outside air and brings it in. In July it runs in reverse and carries the heat out. The thermostat reads the same either way.
